Sunshine Place in Makati offers many things to different people.

Beginning July 21, Barbara “Tweetums” Gonzales will conduct “Wholehearted Class.” It is open to all former “Discovery Writing” and “Digging Deeper” students of Gonzalez.

Barbara ‘Tweetums’ Gonzalez is a Philippine Star columnist. (Second Wind, Every Saturday). A 1991 National Book Awardee and Manila Critics Circle choice, she is the author of How Do You Know Your Pearls Are Real? On Single Parenthood and Other Ms. Adventures.” 

Regular classes are scheduled every Friday, 10 a.m. – 12 nn until Sept. 22 on the 2nd Floor Senior Hub. 

Rates are P7,000  (VAT inclusive) for non-seniors and P5,000 for seniors. Deadline of enrollment is on 19 July.

Seniors can tap their way to health with the help of Danny Vinculado’s tap dancing workshop

Also, you can learn to decorate porcelain with its new Porcelain Painting classes beginning tomorrow 19.

The first of its kind in Manila, porcelain-painting classes will be given by Mee Lee Casey, a Malaysian instructor to five-workshop batches for the year. 

Her 20 years of teaching and learning experience in UK, Singapore, Hong Kong Taiwan and Australia will be shared in a four-day session workshop of mixing paints, hand-painting, firing, and adding one’s personal touch to the porcelain. 

The four-day workshop schedule is as follows: Batch 3: July 19, 20, 26, 27 (Wednesdays and Thursdays); Batch 4: Aug. 22, 24, 29, 31 (Tuesdays and Thursdays); and Batch 5: Sept. 4, 6, 11, 13 (Mondays and Wednesdays) from 10 a,m. to 4 p.m..

The four session full course rate for new students is P6,000 (seniors) and P8,400 (non-seniors). Returning students’ rate per day is P1,500 (seniors) and P2,100 (non-seniors). Starter kit is P3,000.

And, if you still have rhythm in your body or the stamina to do it, tap your way to health. Strike your heel and toe on the floor and learn tap dancing. The workshop will be conducted by Danny Vinculado.

Vinculado started dancing at a young age with the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Dance Group. He widened his knowledge and interest in dance by studying ballet, jazz, folk and contemporary dance both here and abroad. 

He became part of the Metropolitan Dance Theater and Hotlegs as a choreographer, and has been associated with Bodytalk, Dance Masters, and Hamstrings. 

The workshop schedule is for eight sessions that started on July 14 and will run until Sept.1 every Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the 4th floor, Senior Hub. 

Workshop rate is P5,600 for non-seniors and P4,000 for seniors.
