Design Awards Asia 2017 recognizes top corporate brand logos

Adobo Magazine recently hailed three entries from the recent Corporate Branding Identity Competition, namely those by Shao Design Co. for Pinnacle Financial Advisers, Brandyard for Itokish Website, and Romeo Catap Jr. for Benilde Industrial Design, at the adobo Design Awards Asia 2017.

All three won Silver Metal, while no Gold Metal was awarded among the seven finalists of the category.

Submissions represented the company, brand, product or event’s trademark with applications across visual identity platforms and various collaterals.

Launched in 2007, the adobo Design Awards aims to champion the best designs and recognize the talents responsible for the work. Open to all professionals, freelancers, students, and creative enthusiasts, it has since grown to include international competitors, raising the bar even higher for global standards of creative excellence. They may likewise receive the opportunity to share their ideas and be critiqued by established industry leaders from both advertising and design.

The Industrial Design (ID) emblem at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB)’s School of Design and Arts (SDA) was conceptualized in time for the course’s 25th anniversary, alongside the international celebration of World International Design Day. The insignia was launched to define the College’s institutional goals and the program’s directions.

Center for Institutional Communications Director Adriel Peña, ID Chairperson Mary Florence Nobleza, and ID Senior Industry Fellow Kenneth Cobonpue reviewed Catap’s design.

Catap explained that the logo expressed “the core of the Benildean-Lasallian spirit, resembling it to the learner or individual through the use of the certain icons from the Benilde logotype.”

The jury for this year’s adobo Design Awards Asia was led by D&AD President Bruce Duckworth, Dentsu Tokyo, Incorporated Creative Director Yoshihiro Yagi, along with renowned local designers and artists, and advertising agency executives.
