BB moves up to CC

Following the global success of the BB (blemish balm) cream comes a new and improved version called CC Cream, which stands for Color Control or Color Correcting. Introduced and launched by several beauty companies just last year, the CC Cream is seen to be 2013’s next big thing. As an improved version of the multitasker BB Cream, CC Cream claims to provide more coverage and brighten skin’s complexion, with bonus protection from sun damage, hydration, and nourishing ingredients that help defy skin aging. Several brands have already came out with their own CC Cream formulation which promises the best skin perfecting and nourishing results. While some beauty companies including high-end label Chanel has its CC Cream, which continuously garners positive feedback from its consumers, most of them are not yet available in the Philippines. The good news is organic beauty solutions company, Juice Beauty now brings the magic of CC Cream to the country which will be available on March at all Beauty Bar outlets nationwide. “We are the first [to introduce CC Cream] in the Philippines, and we are very proud,” said Juice Beauty managing director of operations Jackie Duda who flew all the way from California for the product press launch held early this month. According to Duda, after its announcement in the US late last year, Juice Beauty has since received an overwhelming demand for the said product. “We launched it on our Web site on December 15 and this immediately became our best selling product,” she bared. Juice Beauty’s CC Cream is part of its Stem Cellular Repair line together with its moisturizer and eye treatment products. When I asked where the idea of developing their own brand of CC Cream came from, Duda admitted that they initially wanted to create a BB cream. “Everybody already has a BB Cream, but after researching, we realized the newest trend coming from Korea is a cream beyond BB Cream, it’s the next generation. So we changed the whole course of our product development path and came out with our very own CC Cream--a BB Cream, only better and has more benefits,” she explained. The Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream combines Juice Beauty’s propriety blend of fruit stem cells, Vitamin C, and resveratrol-rich grapeseed base. It also has hyaluronic acid that increases hydration and regulates acid, and zinc oxide which is responsible for the product’s full spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 chemical-free protection and is, according to Duda, good for people with blemishes because of its healing properties. “It has so many amazing ingredients that you can actually use it as a skincare product,” Duda said. Juice Beauty takes pride in its CC Cream which offers 12 skin benefits, more than the usual eight in most BB cream brands. Claiming to be the ultimate Color Corrector, Juice Beauty’s CC Cream repairs DNA damage, evens skin tone and texture, firms and improves skin elasticity, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, creates a radiant, glowing complexion, balances skin tone, rich in antioxidants, protects skin from sun damage with SPF 30, mineral tinted coverage, ultimate moisturizer, skin perfecting color, and great for all skin types. Duda said this product is a moisturizer, sunblock and foundation in one. “What we recommend to our customers for a really quick finish on the go is just put CC Cream all over the face and finish it with our Refining Finishing Powder to achieve that perfect complexion and matte look. It gives you a wonderful coverage in just two steps,” she said. The Juice Beauty brand of CC Cream has a lighter weight feel and blends well to the skin without that “white look.” So instead of turning your skin one to two shades lighter, it rather gives you a glowing beautiful color. However, because the product is relatively thinner and lighter than most BB Creams, it is not the best substitute to concealers to hide skin imperfections and blemishes. Instead, this could be used as a primer to correct skin tone before putting makeup on top. The Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream comes in two shades, the Natural Glow for fair to medium skin tones, and Warm Glow which has more tint thus works well to those with medium to dark skin tones. The Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream (50ml) is retailed at P2,250. Available in Beauty Bar Rockwell, Trinoma, Greenbelt 5, Bonifacio High Street, Shangri-la, Eastwood, Podium, Alabang Town Center, Robinson’s Magnolia, and Lucky Chinatown Mall.
