Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya—Infrastructure projects are in the pipeline for the upgrading of the facilities of the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital in Bambang town, Gov. Carlos Padilla said.

Padilla said he has ordered the preparation of all required documents and integration of technical inputs from offices of the provincial government for the construction of medical projects within the NVPH that will start this year.

“We have recently conducted an ocular inspection with heads of offices of the provincial government and the Department of Health to put in their technical knowledge and expertise to solve pressing problems, issues and concerns to further improve NVPH services,” he said.

The projects include the construction of a 4-storey Medical Arts Building which will house, among others, the doctors’ clinics, outpatient department facilities, and a dialysis center.

“This will be funded by the DOH through the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development,” Padilla added.

The local government will also fund the establishment of another 200-bed capacity 4-storey building which will also accommodate administrative operations, he said.

“These infrastructure projects are in response to the increasing number of patients being served by the NVPH. As a Level I hospital, it is serving 250 patients during the peak season,” Padilla said.

“We should always be mindful of the sentiments of our people, as they get disappointed with delayed completion of government projects,” he added.
