Parañaque City Mayor Edwin L. Olivarez has been named “Most Outstanding Mayor for 2019” in Metro Manila by award-giving body Superbrands Marketing International Inc. in last Friday’s ceremonies held at The City Club, Makati.
Olivarez was credited by SMI for his “Bagong Parañaque” program in education, poverty reduction, job creation, excellence in governance, and national competitiveness programs.
Under Olivarez’s leadership, Parañaque reached greater heights with record numbers of investors and businesses coming into the city, with the latest count at over 20,000, which have led to estimated annual gross sales of over P3 billion.
A highly urbanized city in southern Metro Manila, Paranaque was also has recognized by the Department of Interior and Local Government as the most compliant local government in Metro Manila for passing four of seven local governance assessment areas for the year 2018.
SMI, the world’s largest independent arbiter of branding with programs in more than 90 countries, is the only international award-giving body on marketing/branding in the Philippines.
The Superbrands council is composed of luminaries from public relations, civic and institutional organizations being part of the international standard of brands and services category worldwide.
