Manila Water continues to improve its measures to provide water supply to Barangay Addition Hills in Mandaluyong City, one of the hardest hit by the water supply shortage in its concession area.
At present, about 90 percent of Addition Hills homes are getting clean and potable water from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, benefitting more than 9,000 homes.
Manila Water has also completed the declogging of 105 bulk meters from various people’s organizations, installed one 63mm pipe extension for elevated areas and for refilling of static tanks, and placed four static tanks (two 10cu.m. and two 1cu.m.) in Addition Hills Integrated School, DSWD Nayon ng Kabataan, and Addition Hills Barangay Hall.
These key locations are scheduled to have water from 9 am to 5 pm. The areas also have dedicated Manila Water tankers to continuously refill the tanks.
In monitoring and assessing the water supply of these locations, Manila Water has stationed personnel to continuously evaluate the area for proposed permanent technical and network solutions.
All these are aligned with the company’s efforts to bring water availability back to its normal levels at the earliest possible time.
Meanwhile, on March 22, Manila Water said supply has been restored to 96 percent of customers of the east concession zone.
Water from the tap is now available to 96 percent of Manila Water’s customer base, compared to 80 percent last week, with water supply available from 8 to 12 hours, at least at the ground floor level of their residences.
