With a total land area of 6,229.99 square meters located at the back of the New Caloocan City Hall, the People’s Park is one of Malapitan’s big projects.

Families and friends who will visit the park can relax and experience a fun time as number of play equipments can be found inside the new park.

As part of the city’s 57th Cityhood Anniversary, the City Government recognized the outstanding performances and contributions of Caloocan residents to the community during the annual Outstanding Citizens Awards (OCA) Night.

Malapitan awarded trophies and cash gifts worth P10,000 each to nine centenarians in the city. According to Office for Senior Citizens Affairs head Prof. Marilyn De Jesus, the centenarians will also receive P100,000 each from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Ten outstanding employees of the city government also received trophies and cash incentive worth P20,000 each.

The mayor announced that job order employees among the awardees will be promoted to regular status while those regular employee awardees will be promoted to one rank higher.

Aside from centenarians and outstanding employees, Malapitan also gave trophies to outstanding barangays, outstanding citizens and organizations for education, public order and safety, infrastructure, health, education, livelihood, sports, and culture and arts.

“Thank you for your exemplary performances in your duties and contributions to make Caloocan a progressive city. I am hoping that you will serve as good example to others,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Caloocan awarded Malapitan for being a consistent Seal of Good Governance awardee for four consecutive years.

As part of its incentive for bagging its fourth Seal of Good Governance (SGLG) award, the City Government received a P5-million Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).

In behalf of Malapitan, City Administrator Oliver Hernandez and the city department heads received the check from the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

The city administrator said Mayor Oca will allocate the incentive fund to street lights project. He added that the last PCF was used for road projects in the city, particularly in the northern part.

During the turnover, Hernandez asked the city employees for their continuous cooperation when it comes to public service, especially those in the frontline services.

Implemented by the DILG in 2010, PCF is a financial subsidy to qualified local government units under the Local Governance Performance Management Program of the department.
