FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and the world’s largest express transportation company, recently underlined its commitment to serving local communities at the 10th American Chamber of the Philippines (AmCham) CSR Awards.

The awards recognize member companies through their outreach initiatives, bringing economic and social impact to beneficiary communities.

Themed “Business for Better Life,” the AmCham CSR Photo Exhibit included six different categories highlighting the importance of the environment, education, healthcare, livelihood, disaster risk management, and maintaining peace in conflict-ridden areas.

This year, FedEx featured its community outreach in Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School in Sampaloc, Manila, which benefited 3,500 public school students.

A total of 53 FedEx volunteers repaired tables and chairs, repainted the nutrition center, planted fruits and vegetables in the school garden, and painted a mural to remind students of the importance of eating a well-balanced meal.

Previous FedEx CSR activities include educating about 200 Makati Science students on environmental sustainability; tree planting activities in Buhay Punlaan nursery in Lumban, Laguna; and the donation of 80 solar-powered lanterns and five lampposts to the community of Villa Porac in Pampanga that served 220 indigenous families.
