The distribution of real property tax share was organized by the Barangay Operations Center and Community Relations Department in coordination with the treasurer’s office.

The city’s District 1 got P7.3 million, while District 2 had P9.2 million.

At least P17.8 million went to the District 3, while District 4 ate up P27.5 million.

The barangays with the highest share were Socorro with P937,216.32, Bagumbayan with P755,194.11, South Triangle with P709,502.74, Pinyahan with P664,259.48, Tandang Sora with P657,623.19, Matandang Balara with P654,718.89, Kaligayahan with P631,486.18, Loyola Heights with P612,310.25, Batasan Hills with P608,122.98 and Kaunlaran with P564,451.83.

Bautista said the city government expects barangay officials to allocate their shares to livelihood, education, infrastructure, health and social services.

Meanwhile, the Quezon City Council has passed a resolution requesting the QC Housing, Community Development and Resettlement Department to conduct a census of informal settlers residing in Hilltop Novaliches subdivision’s open spaces and also in Barangay Greater Lagro.

City Resolution 7458-2018 introduced by Councilor Godofredo Liban III said that for three decades, the intended purposes of the open spaces in Hilltop Novaliches subdivision and in Road 1 cannot be enjoyed by homeowners due to the presence of informal settlers.

The properties are now being occupied by the early occupants, buyers of rights, professional squatters, and tenants.

In January 19, the Board of Hilltop Novaliches Subdivision Homeowners Association, Inc. adopted a Board Resolution No. 00418 series of 2018 entitled, “A Resolution Seeking Favorable Endorsement from the Honorable Councilor Godie Liban in the Conduct of Census of Informal Settlers residing in Hilltop Novaliches Subd. Open Spaces and Road 1 Lot.”

A census of the occupants of the open spaces is necessary to maintain peace and order in Hilltop Subdivision and Road 1.
