Earthquake Drill

Some 1,800 students of Pembo Elementary School wearing hard hats provided by the city government of Makati participate in an earthquake drill on Thursday in line with the 2018 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, in groups guided by their teachers and other school officials. Mayor Abby Binay earlier led the distribution of hard hats and emergency go bags among the city’s public elementary and high schools. The project is part of Makati’s continuing efforts to promote disaster readiness among all its constituents, especially schoolchildren who are most vulnerable to disasters, including a strong earthquake.
