10 ‘Most Wanted’ caught in Caloocan

Caloocan City police have arrested 10 alleged “Most Wanted” persons in the city’s new anti-crime campaign, ther city police chief said Tuesday.

City police commander Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna said the suspects were arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by different branches of the Caloocan Regional Trial Court.

Arrested were Christopher Ngoho, 50; Bobby Avila, 49; Danilo Lacierda, 36; Romel Baustista, 22; John John Alec, 20; Gereno Lapuz, 39; Ricardo Icmat, 70; and three others still unnamed due to lack of identification.

In a news conference, Bersaluna told Mayor Oscar Malapitan the suspects were facing various charges like robbery with homicide, rape, possession of illegal drugs, acts of lasciviousness, slight physical injuries, and qualified trespass to dwelling. Some of these crimes were nonbailable offenses, he added.

Bersaluna said the anti-criminality campaign was in accordance with the Philippine National Police’s directive “to arrest all fugitives of the law for them to face their cases in court.”
