Camp Olivas, Pampanga—Police arrested Tuesday Central Luzon's most wanted person who is facing a string of murder cases in various courts in Nueva Ecija.

Jeremy Itan, 39, a resident of Barangay Ilog in Baliwag and leader of the Itan Criminal Group, was placed under tight watch by different police units for his alleged involvement in gun-for-hire, robbery hold-up and kidnap-for-ransom activities in Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Bulacan and other areas in Central Luzon.

According to Police Regional Office-3 head Brig. Gen. Joel Napoleon Coronel, Itan was arrested during a raid at the suspect's safehouse at Barangay San Jacinto in Victoria, Tarlac. Police records showed that the Itan group is responsible for the murder of Licab, Nueva Ecija Vice Mayor Albert Caraang in October 2010.

Police also tagged the group for the murder of Cabiao, Nueva Ecija Association of Barangay Captain head Rogelio Cunanan in October 2010 and municipal accountant Noel Gamboa in December 2014.

A former member of the dreaded Alakdan Group, a criminal gang operating in Central Luzon, Itan organized his own team and served as private security of a former politician in Quezon, Nueva Ecija.
