Noveleta, Cavite—Hundreds of couples in common-law partnerships in this town and across the province will officially get married on Valentine’s Day in a mass wedding sponsored by their respective local governments.
Mayor Dino Reyes Chua will administer the civil marital rites on Thursday at the Long Beach Resort in Barangay San Rafael IV. Chua will also shoulder the reception, bouquet of flowers, wedding cakes, and souvenirs of the couples tying the knot.
Noveleta will also officially open Long Beach Resort to public after the local government rehabilitated the beach in 2016.
Chua, Vice Mayor Donnie Torres, Councilor Davey Chua and other councilors will act as godparents of the couples.
In Bacoor City, Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla will be godmother and officiating official to over a hundred couples who will exchange “I Do’s” before delighted well-wishers—from city councilors and staff to family members—at the Strike Gym in Bacoor Government Center.
Thousands of unwed couples benefited from the mass wedding organized by the LGU since the term of current Rep. Edwin ‘Strike’ Revilla as mayor of this coastal city.
In Dasmariñas City, Mayor Elpidio Barzaga Jr. and his wife, Cavite 1st District Rep. Jenny Barzaga, will solemnize the marriage of around 500 couples at Dasmariñas National High School campus.
Barzaga will award the Best Attired Groom and Bride in the end part of the rites. The winner will be given P10,000 cash, P5,000 for the 2nd prize and P3,000 for the 3rd Prize.
In Tagaytay City, the local government celebrates Valentine’s Day with its “Pista ng Pag-ibig”
(Feast of Love) in honor of the city’s Our Mother of Fair Love.
City Mayor Agnes Tolentino and her husband, Cavite 8th District Rep. Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino, will lead the traditional V-Day celebration. Highlights include the “Kasalang Bayan” at Sigtuna Hall of the Tagaytay International Convention Center, where 45 resident-couples will say their ‘I Do’s.
In Rosario, Mayor Voltaire Ricafrente and his father Vice Mayor Nonong Ricafrente will lead the annual Mass Wedding at Isla Bonita Resort at 8 a.m.
