Balanga City—The Department of Environment and Natural Resources office in Bataan delivered a “State of Provincial Environment” report during the opening of the two-day Bataan Environment Summit 2018, highlighting the province’s environmental conservation and protection achievements.

Mila Ramirez, DENR Bataan Division chief, represented Provincial Environment Officer Raul Mamac, who was attending an official function in department’s regional office.

She reported on the National Greening Program, Manila Bay Cleanup, mangrove propagation, and coral protection, among others, in front of about 500 senior public high school students and other guests at Bataan People’s Center, capitol compound.

“In Bataan, we have successful National Greening Program,” Ramirez said, using visual aids showing maps and statistics as Gov. Abet Garcia and other participants listened approvingly.

“We are continuously implementing the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Project,” she added, noting they have already conducted many mangrove reforestation projects “and we will do more” while showing the mangrove areas in the map.
