BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya—Village officials of Barangay Salinas here recently expressed their gratitude for the ongoing construction of a hanging bridge that will hasten economic activities in their area.

Barangay Capt. Julius Timo-an said the approval and construction of the P4-million hanging bridge project will benefit at least 500 villagers in sitio Nangkalapan and adjacent communities in barangay Salinas.

“This will bring our products closer to the market and further boost our economic activities,” he said.

Timo-an said they are grateful for the project since the local government of Bambang headed by Mayor Flaviano Balgos earlier chose their community as a recipient of the fund.

The fund was handed by the Quezon City government to Bambang LGU because of their sisterhood agreement.

Timo-an said the villagers of sitio Nangkalapan have been in difficult situation in the past years after a previous strong typhoon destroyed the first hanging bridge constructed in the community.

“We are truly grateful for the donors of this project. Rest assured that we will take good care of it for the benefit of our villagers,” he said.
