DINALUPIHAN, Bataan—Electric consumers in the province led by a former councilor of this town are urging Gov. Albert Garcia and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to investigate the Peninsula Electric Cooperative or Penelco for alleged incompetence and abuses.

“Penelco has been so negligent, inconsiderate and callous all these years,” complained former Dinalupihan councilor Jules Moncupa.

On Tuesday, consumers of Dinalupihan and nearby Hermosa town were incensed by what Moncupa said was the “lamentable service” of the electric cooperative.

“They notified us of a power interruption from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., but the power did not resume when they said it would, and seven times the electricity went on and off. The power finally normalized at 10 p.m.,” the former councilor complained.

“Our works and chores are affected, many appliances have been damaged, and this has caused terrible inconvenience to those who have sickness,” he wailed.
