Isabela has best disaster team

ILAGAN, Isabela—The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council has declared the provincial disaster team of Isabela province as the best Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council unit across the country.

Under Gov. Faustino Dy III and Vice Gov. Antonio Albano, Isabela was declared best PDRRMC for the second straight time, beating the provinces of Pampanga in Region 3 and Dinagat Island in Caraga region in second and third rank, respectively.

Meanwhile, Rescue 922 of Cauayan City, Isabela bagged first place in the Government Emergency Management Services (Urban/Advance) category, while the town of Baggao’s Rescue 116 bagged third place in the Basic category.

The Isabela Provincial Capitol Day Care Center also brought home the Hall of Fame Award for Best Early Learning Center (Urban).

Santiago City in Isabela was declared best City DRRM Council in all component and independent cities nationwide.

The town of Villaverde in Nueva Vizcaya province bagged third in the Municipal DRRM Council (4th to 6th class) category.

Barangay Alinguigan Second of the City of Ilagan also won first place in the best Barangay DRRM Council (Rural) category. 

The Gawad Kalasag Award, awarded by the NDRRMC and the Office of the Civil Defence, recognizes local disaster teams in their performance in “protecting” and “shielding” high-risk communities against natural hazards, and addressing their vulnerabilities to natural disasters

The Isabela Provincial Capitol Day Care Center also brought home the Hall of Fame Award for Best Early Learning Center (Urban).
