A Lot Like Christmas at Ayala Malls

The holidays are in full swing with Christmas carols filling the halls, and tinsel and mistletoe decorating every corner of the shops. New, delightful experiences await customers this Yuletide season, and leading the exciting festivities is Ayala Malls, the premier lifestyle mall in the country.

Ayala Malls kicked off the holiday season with “Lov’Em Lit Holidays” last November 9, at The Gallery, Greenbelt 5.  “Christmas is close to our hearts because it’s about family. And this year, we want our shoppers to feel a heart-warming Christmas at Ayala Malls — it being their second home,” shares Rowena Tomeldan, President of Ayala Land Malls Inc.

“We have put together activities that the whole family can enjoy together – a dance production that will mesmerize, symphonies that will captivate, and, of course, our Christmas markets where shoppers can get wonderful gift ideas.”

At the Christmas launch, Jaime Zobel de Ayala, a staunch supporter of the arts, unveiled his newest contemporary work, a mix of photos and textures that capture the color, vibrancy and energy of the Christmas spirit. This amazing piece – on display inside the tunnel leading to Greenbelt 3 – is one of his many efforts to celebrate Pinoy culture.

At the event launch, Ayala Malls also debuted its special video, “Lov’ Em This Christmas.” This unique presentation, created in collaboration with Ayala Malls’ partners, service providers and customers, aims to inspire and showcases some of the familiar faces at Ayala Malls.

Musical tidings

In the weeks leading up to the Christmas, Ayala Malls gifts you with more surprises and amazing experiences to make your holidays with the family more memorable.

This November, celebrity performers will be serenading the Christmas crowds at your favorite malls. Fall in love with the soothing voices of Piolo Pascual at Market! Market! (Dec. 2), Xian Lim at Harbor Point (Nov. 25), and Sam Milby at TriNoma (Nov. 27).

Bringing more fun energy to the festivities will be the Steps Dance Project, which will impress the crowds with their powerful, world-class routines in “I Got Stung,” a performance inspired by the music of Sting.

Directed and choreographed by James Laforteza, the show’s stars, former Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performers Aubree Brown and Jamal Brown, will take the stage and mesmerize audiences with their virtuoso dancing.

The Alvin Ailey Dance Theater is one of the renowned institutions in the United States, famed for its pioneering vision in choreography and dance.

For this special presentation, former Alvin Ailey superstar Maribeth Roxas- Dobrish lends her talent and artistic expertise as guest choreographer. Over the decades, Roxas-Dobrish has built a name as a brilliant performer, and has become an inspiring figure in the industry.

Putting a childlike touch to the Christmas carols will be the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra. They will be touring the metro as part of their fundraising initiative to build their new home, the MSO Recital Hall, at Circuit Lane.

Catch them as these young, gifted musicians, ages 8 to 18, share their time and talents. They will be at Market! Market! on Dec. 3, Greenbelt on Dec. 10, Ayala Malls Southpark on Dec. 11, Ayala Malls Solenad on Dec. 16, UP Town Center on Dec. 17, and Alabang Town Center on Dec. 18.

The quartets will also be delighting mall-goers of Glorietta on Dec 3, 11 and 17. Also catch “Singing Santa” on December 4 and 10 at Glorietta.
