After 16 years of hard work, beneficiaries of Republic Act No. 9207 or the ‘National Government Center Housing and Land Utilization Act of 2003’ finally received their land titles on Friday. Former president and now Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo led the awarding of titles, contracts to sell and notices of lot award to the residents of the NGC. Speaker Arroyo assured the awardees that the House will work on providing a budget for them to acquire the said property. Meanwhile, Rep. Winston Castelo and incoming Rep. Precious Hipolito-Castelo expressed their gratitude to the Speaker who ensured that their constituents in the NGC will eventually have their own titles, from her presidency until her time as Speaker of the Lower Chamber.
