Bamboo initiative

The Philippine Nickel Industry Association, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, showcase their bamboo advocacy at the ‘Bamboo Extreme 2.0’ event of the 2018 Manila Fame design and lifestyle fair. PNIA believes that bamboo reforestation is the way to move forward to responsible and sustainable mining while helping local communities with economic opportunities. At the opening ceremony are (from left) PNIA executive-director Charmaine Olea-Capili, PNIA chairman Butch Alcantara, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, Olli Corp. chief executive Leo Dominguez, DTI regional director Judith Angeles, Trade Undersecretary Nora Terrado,  Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions executive-director Pauline Juan and Design Center of the Philippines executive director Rhea Matute.
