For Marawi's Kids

Elementary students of a public school in Marawi City show off the new school uniforms donated by the city government of Makati through the Department of Education during the opening of classes. Makati Mayor Abby Binay turned over to Education Secretary Leonor Briones school supplies and food packs for students of elementary and secondary schools in Marawi last March 8. The donated items were distributed to the students during ‘Brigada Eskwela’ from April 23 to 28—including 5,000 pairs of school shoes, 10,875 sets of school uniforms, 1,946 jogging pants, and 5,594 T-shirts. Additional items donated by Makati included 1,009 pants and 335 polos for boys, and 50 skirts and 331 blouses for girls. Makati also donated 2,500 food packs for the students of the war-ravaged city.
