Ready for school

A student of Maximo Estrella Elementary School in Barangay Carmona, Makati shows off the free school supplies and a new pair of black shoes she received Monday while participating in the annual Brigada Eskwela program. Makati Mayor Abby Binay has ordered the distribution of school supplies and uniforms to be done simultaneously with the activity to ensure that students will come to class in proper uniform and with the things they need when schools open on June 4. This year, the city allocated P700 million for Project FREE (Free Relevant Excellent Education), which provides school supplies and gear to Makati public school students, from preschool to senior high.
