Water update

Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Administrator Reynaldo V. Velasco (second from right) assures consumers in Metro Manila and nearby provinces that there is adequate water supply. Velasco discussed the progress of the 650 MLD Kaliwa Dam Project funded by Chinese ODA through a bilateral agreement forged by President Rodrigo Duterte with Chinese President Xi Jin Ping. Joining Velasco in the water forum hosted by veteran journalist Marichu Villanueva are Maynilad COO Randy Estrellado and Manila Water COO Ding Carpio who both supported the various MWSS plans and programs on water security and water sources, wastewater and treatment plants, watershed protection and overall disaster management preparations in the event that the Big One occurs. Photo shows the MWSS chief handing over the commemorative book celebrating 140 years of the water agency and a copy of the Water & Environment Journal.
