Shrine spruced up

In its efforts to preserve the Rizal Monument, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and the National Parks Development Committee has partnered with Kärcher, the global leader in cleaning technology, to spruce up the Rizal Shrine at the Luneta on Dec. 14, 2017. For this year, Karcher has chosen the Philippines as its beneficiary for the campaign with the cleanup of the Rizal Monument which, throughout the years, has seen its fair share of wear and tear. It’s (no longer) white granite obelisk, together with the bronze statue of Rizal, is, unfortunately, a far cry from its original look as streaks of black dirt collected over the decades tarnishes its once-regal appearance.
