Manila Water Co. president Ferdinand M. dela Cruz (seated, second from right) stresses a point at the closing session of the Singapore Water Week attended by water executives, decision makers and professionals from many countries including the Philippines led by  Reynaldo Velasco, administrator of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System. Serving as one of the featured panelists in the Singapore conference with theme ‘Forging Alliance Amongs Water Utility Leaders,’ Dela Cruz  cited the case of Manila Water  updating its risk-based ‘Water Safety Plans from Source to Tap’ working with the Department of Health and the World Health Organization. Velasco cited  the Ayala-owned Manila Water not only for its performance as a concessionaire over the last 20 years serving 6.5 million customers in the East Zone with only 11 percent non-revenue water but also for exporting the successful Public-Private Partnership legal framework to other Asean countries such as  Vietnam, Indonesia, and Myanmar.
