Photo shows the new expressway lanes in the section between Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan and San Fernando City were expanded from 2×2 lanes to 3×3 lanes in each direction. This is part of the Manila North Tollways Corp.’s P2.6-billion capacity expansion projects that is now ready to open in order to ease traffic congestion in the section between Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan and San Fernando City. The new projects also include the construction of new expressway lanes on both sides of the 5-km long Candaba Viaduct. MNTC also built a new 2×2, 4-kilometer expressway in the Mabalacat City portion of the NLEX including two new bridges. “These completed projects will bring more travel convenience and improved public service along this key NLEX section that connects Metro Manila to the provinces in Central and Northern Luzon,” said MNTC president and CEO Rodrigo Franco.
