AirTrav Corp. will spend $6 million this year to acquire two brand new aircraft for its expansion in Visayas.

“Hopefully, we could still expand by next year to Visayas and hopefully also in Mindanao by next year,” AirTrav president Jacob Cusi told reporters Wednesday.

“If the market is right, we plan to get more planes, (it)depends on the market,” he added.

The company currently owns one Cessna Grand Caravan Ex Amphibian, which flies from Manila-Clark-Manila and Puerto Galera-Manila. It also offers charter flights.

Cusi said his company was optimistic about its operations with a goal to carry 500 passengers this year.

The company operates out of its own hangar at the Manila International Airport in Pasay City, flying the Robinson R-44 Raven II and the Cessna Grand Caravan Ex Amphibian.
