NGCP energizes line in Pampanga

National Grid Corp. of the Philippines recently energized the new P316-million Hermosa-Floridablanca 69-kiloVolt (kV) transmission line, bringing more reliable transmission services to customers in the Pampanga area.

“Due to the load growth in the area, the 53-year old existing line cannot accommodate the heavy loading conditions and would have caused problems in the long run. A new line was required to ensure the reliability of power transmission services,” NGCP said in a press statement.

The project was included in the list of the projects declared as energy project of national significance in January.

The line, approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission, will prevent the overloading of the aging Hermosa-Guagua 69kV line.

The project also complies with the N-1 component set by the Philippine Grid Code, which refers the ability of the grid to withstand a major system disturbance with minimal disruption to the system.
