Rosatom eyes other nuclear applications

Russian State Atomic Energy Corp. is looking for more opportunities to support the Philippines by expanding the application of nuclear to other sectors such as medicine and agriculture.

Rosatom is currently working with the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute as it leverages its experience in building research reactors and laboratories for the country.

Rosatom has been teaming up with countries, including Bolivia and Zambia, to create a Center for Nuclear Science and Technology that allows them to start the development of nuclear technologies that may be applied in science, healthcare, agriculture, geology and other fields.

A CNST can have several elements--Center for Nuclear Medicine, Research Reactor, Research Laboratories and Multipurpose Irradiation Center--which could be established in various modifications.
