The Philippines dropped 10 notches to 56th out of 63 countries in the 2018 World Digital Competitiveness Ranking based on a report released by the International Institute for Management Development, with the AIM Rizalino S. Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness as its Philippine country partner.

The WDC ranking was topped by the United States, followed by Singapore, Sweden, Denmark, and Switzerland.

At the bottom of the ranking are Venezuela at 63rd, Indonesia at 62nd, Mongolia at 61st, Peru at 60th and Colombia at 59th.

The WDC on its second year of publication showed that the Philippines was tailing behind 11 economies in the Asia Pacific, or 12th out of the 14 countries.

The countries were evaluated using 50 indicators spread across three factors—knowledge, technology, and future readiness.
