DHL Express, the world’s leading international express services provider, will increase prices starting January 1 next year.

The company said the average shipment price would be 4.9 percent higher than in 2019.

“It is our goal at DHL Express to support our customers in reaching their business goals by tailoring our services to the needs of their business. As a prerequisite, we have been investing heavily in our international network,” said DHL Express Philippines country manager Nurhayati Abdullah.

Abdullah said the annual price adjustment would allow the company to invest in infrastructure, facilities, fleet and online tools.

It also enables the company to use innovative technologies and enhance delivery processes to ensure best-in-class customer solutions.

“These advances, along with other digitalization programs that we are continually developing, will immensely support the growth of e-commerce here in the Philippines,’ Abdulla said.

“We are also gearing up for further expansion across the country to better serve businesses and individuals requiring fast, efficient and reliable international shipping services,” she added.

Prices are adjusted on an annual basis by DHL Express, taking into consideration inflation and currency dynamics such as administrative costs related to regulatory and security measures.

These measures are updated by national and international authorities on a regular basis in each of the more than 220 countries and territories that DHL Express serves.

Depending on local conditions, price adjustments will vary from country to country, and will apply to all customers where contracts allow.

DHL offers a portfolio of logistics services ranging from national and international parcel delivery, e-commerce shipping and fulfilment solutions, international express, road, air and ocean transport to industrial supply chain management.

With about 380,000 employees in more than 220 countries and territories worldwide, DHL connects people and businesses securely and reliably, enabling global trade flows.

DHL is part of Deutsche Post DHL Group. The group generated revenues of over 61 billion euros in 2018.
