ABS-CBN, GMA claim higher ratings

ABS-CBN Corp. and GMA Network Inc. declared higher television ratings nationwide in January 2019. 

ABS-CBN, the broadcast unit of the Lopez group, said it posted an  average audience share of 45 percent in January, compared to GMA’s 30 percent based on data from Kantar Media.

Global audience measurement provider Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.

ABS-CBN said it had an average audience share of 44 percent in Metro Manila versus GMA’s 23 percent. 

GMA, on the other hand, said it remained the viewers’ top choice according to the latest data from ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. 

It said it posted an average total day people audience share of 37.8 percent in the National Urban Television Audience Measurement, beating ABS-CBN’s 35.9 percent in January.

GMA said it registered 34.8 percent  people audience share in the morning block, against the competition’s 30.9 percent.
