Megawide Construction Corp. bagged a contract to build the P4.3-billion residential complex project of Megaworld Corp.
Megawide said in a statement it was named the engineering and procurement contractor for Gentry Manor, a new township along Seaside Boulevard in Westside City, Pasay City.
“Megawide is proud to help deliver Megaworld’s first-world vision for Gentry Manor,” Megawide chairman and chief executive Edgar Saavedra said.
“Megaworld is one of our most valued long-term clients and we are grateful for their continued trust in Megawide. As a partner, we are committed to delivering only the highest standards of construction technology and excellence for Gentry Manor,” Saavedra added.
Gentry Manor involves the construction of a podium and four 16-level towers, with a total contract price of P4.36 billion.
Initial works started in January, with completion set in January 2023.
Gentry Manor is within the 31-hectare Westside City township, which is being developed as a mixed-use development with gaming, entertainment, mall, hotels and residential components.
Aside from Gentry Manor, Megaworld is set to build two new homegrown hotel brands in Westside City.
These are the 529-room Kingsford Hotel and the 685-room Grand Westside Hotel, which will be conveniently linked to the casino complex and will have the unparalleled views of Manila Bay.
The group of property tycoon Andrew Tan earlier committed a higher capital spending budget of P121 billion for the 31-hectare Westside City.
Westside City is the last of the four integrated gaming resorts to rise within the government-sponsored Pagcor Entertainment City.
Megawide is currently engaged as contractor for other ongoing Megaworld developments, such as the One Manchester Place in Mactan Newtown, Cebu; and the Albany and St. Mortiz properties in McKinley West, Taguig.
Megawide is one of the leading infrastructure and engineering companies in the Philippines. Among its big-ticket infrastructure projects are the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange.
