SM Prime Holdings Inc. is set to open SM Cherry Antipolo on June 30, making it the group’s 63rd shopping mall in the country.

Situated along the bustling Marcos Highway, SM Cherry Antipolo offers 27,000 square meters of gross floor area, bringing the group’s total retail footprint to 9.1 million sq m in the Philippines.

“SM Cherry Antipolo is the third Cherry Foodarama outlet in the country that SM Prime re-opens to public after acquiring the brand. The opening of this mall provides the company a stronger foothold in the eastern part of Metro Manila along with our three other malls in Rizal province, the SM City Masinag, SM City Taytay and SM Center Angono,” SM Prime president Jeffrey Lim said in a statement to the stock exchange.

The three-level mall, which is already 55-percent leased to tenants when it opens on Friday, will feature an enhanced shopping environment for the community, offering expanded services beyond the traditional grocery experience.

The mall will also have a Skygarden on the second level, which will share a comfortable and inviting outdoor experience with covered dining areas and walking paths.

SM Prime, which recently hit a milestone by hitting P1 trillion in market capitalization, earlier committed to spend P100 billion over the next two years, primarily to roll out more shopping malls and residential projects.

It recently raised P20 billion from the issuance of seven-year bonds due 2024, primarily to fund its capital spending plan.

SM Prime targets to have 75 shopping malls in the country by end-2018.
