HP, Go Negosyo collaborate for MSME support

HP Inc. Philippines and Go Negosyo, a local non-profit organization, agreed to collaborate over the next 12 months to drive the adoption of digital technology across the Philippines.

By delivering technology innovation, knowledge and resources to micro, small and medium enterprises customers at the Go Negosyo Mentor Me launch and Summit events, HP aims to encourage Filipinos to address poverty through entrepreneurship and the building of an online presence for their business.

The collaboration addresses a key challenge facing MSMEs, many of whom own their own businesses that showcase locally-made products and a wide range of services.

The customer reach for these local products and unique services can be further extended through digitization and personalization of their offers, as this makes them more accessible for the rapidly evolving Philippine market that embraces digital methods of commerce.

Many MSMEs today lack the knowledge, know-how or technology expertise to build a digital presence, and this presents a barrier to further growth for many local entrepreneurs.

At the Go Negosyo and the Department of Trade and Industry’s Kapatid Mentor ME Program and the recently held SIGN UP Summit, HP was able to educate MSMEs on a range of technology innovation that they can access as they position their business for success.

This includes devices from the latest lineup of HP PC and printers which are built for SMBs in mind focusing on HP’s innovation platform.

Participants in the Go Negosyo events will also be able to access dedicated HP resources like HP LIFE, a set of free online self-paced training courses designed to help entrepreneurs learn core skills required to establish, grow and sustain a business.

The collaboration with HP and Go Negosyo is especially relevant as the Philippines embraces Industry 4.0, a world where digital transformation will disrupt the physical and digital worlds for a range of industries including business, finance and government.

The Philippines is home to over 900,000 MSMEs, and these businesses play a critical role in the advancement of the nation towards Industry 4.0.
