Avida Land, the mid-range housing unit of property developer Ayala Land Inc., said it expects to raise P3.6 billion in sales this year from 1,200 residential units launched in southern part of Luzon.

Avida Land assistant vice president for project and strategic management group Herbert Herrero said the company was focusing on South Luzon area which accounted for 70 percent of total house and lot sales.

“In Batangas, majority of house and lot buyers are growing families who want to upgrade their lifestyle. They usually need bigger living spaces and search for a secure and quiet community for their children,” Herrero said.

Herrero said including projects in northern part of Luzon, sales could reach as much as P6 billion.

Herrero said demand for mid-scale housing projects in South Luzon remained strong which encouraged the company to accelerate the launching of a 21-hectare residential community called Avida Settings Lipa.
