BDO Unibank Inc., the country’s biggest lender in terms of assets, tied up with Discover Financial Services, a direct banking and payment services firm based in the United States, to launch Diners Club credit cards in the Philippines.

BDO and Discover launched the credit cards in Makati City on Thursday. Diners Club cards now form part of BDO’s extensive lineup of credit card offerings.

BDO executive vice president and consumer lending group head Rolando Tanchanco said Diners credit cards were an ideal complement to the bank’s credit cards business line.

“We introduce the BDO Diners Club credit cards to further expand the dining and travel perks and privileges we offer our cardholders,” Tanchanco said.

He said Diners Club cardholders could now take advantage of a wide range of first-rate services and benefits afforded to all BDO cardholders, as well as access to over 1,200 operating branches nationwide and a large base of merchant acceptance locations.
