FINANCE Secretary Carlos Dominguez III said the country’s hosting of this year’s  51st Annual Asian Development Bank Meeting in May will not only benefit the economy but also showcase the Philippines’ achievements in terms of tax reforms and the uninterrupted 76 quarters of economic growth.

Dominguez said in a briefing Tuesday approximately 3,000 delegates that will attend the event two months from now would add up to the tourist arrivals in the country.

“This is an important first step for us to further our linkage with people from other countries. We have a stable government, young and educated workforce… these are what we want to display,” Dominguez said.

ADB secretary Woochong Um said the Philippines’ hosting of the event was very timely, citing the “very engaging government” of President Rodrigo Duterte and people from other countries would find out themselves what are happening in the country.
