Homegrown franchising companies are looking at a 20-percent growth in sales this year to P128.4 billion from P107 billion in 2016, as more Filipino companies expand locally and overseas.
Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. president John Chung said the group was optimistic growth would continue for local franchisers particularly for new members.
“We have about 170 members that are trying to expand their businesses through franchising. We all have the same goals. But as a group, we want our members to reach the full potential of the business. We have companies that are exporting now, as we speak, like Julie’s Bakeshop, Fiorgelato, Potato Corner, among the few bigger companies,” he said in a news briefing Tuesday.
Chung’s company Acquasuisse, a local perfume bar, sees good prospects in Australia and the US.
AFFI will holds the 16th Franchise and Business Expo on Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 at the World Trade Center. The group is also celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
