Duty Free Philippines Corp. expects flat sales in 2016 due to road and stores improvements affecting store operations.

“I think we’ll have the same sales as in 2015. For one, our store, the one at Terminal 3 Landside, is still closed because of road construction and the one within Cebu Airport has just opened,” said Duty Free chief operating officer Lorenzo Formoso.

Sales in 2015 generated as much as $210 million with chocolates still the fastest moving and bestselling product, said Formoso.

He added the 2015 sales were not expected due to several factors, such as corporate events and a few stores were constnatly doing repairs.

“That’s why we’re on-off on several occassions,” he said.
